Administrative AssociateDirect and coordinate activities with emphasis on interdisciplinary activities and extramural funding.
Establish, implement and monitor sound fiscal policies.
Oversight of CMBD activities.
Prepare grant applications and CMBD progress reports.
Provide administrative and clerical support for CMBD programs.
Maintain liaison with and coordinate visits of external visitors and coordinate educational programs.
Schedule meetings for committees and ensure adherence with IRB and IACUC requirements.Administer the Pilot and Feasibility Program; and
Strategic Planning
Steering Committee Formulate key policy decisions of CMBD.
Ensure liaison with other research and training centers and academic units within UAB.
Provide scientific and administrative oversight for pilot and feasibility research studies, scientific cores, and enrichment activities.
Screen and approve membership in the UAB CCBSR.
Foster and coordinate interactive osteoporosis related research among CMBD investigators.
Utilize External Advisory Committee to improve quality of CMBD research and training.
Identify opportunities for increased collaboration between CMBD, state and federal agencies and industry.
Evaluate all quality assurance programs within the CMBD.
Conduct internal consultant/review of research activities.
Integrate activities among CMBD cores.
Evaluate progress regarding impact and outcomes of individual cores and pilot studies.
Plan and oversee dissemination activities for osteoporosis initiatives.Institutional Advisory Panel Advise the CMBD Director on the coordination and integration of CMBD programmatic interests in relation to other UAB departments, divisions, Centers and the Institution as a whole.
Ensure appropriate institutional support for CMBD programs.External Advisory Panel Assist in evaluation of overall quality of Center and plans for future direction.
Stimulate thinking regarding emerging providers and national funding agencies.
Evaluate scientific productivity.
